There are many things I have written down in my notebook in preparation for my interview with BVAccel - reasons why I want to join the team. Things that are incredibly intriguing and important, such as the rapid growth the company is experiencing, hopefully meaning stability for employees. The opportunity that awaits; opportunity for both Moms and Pops, Fortune 500 companies, and everything in between to be impactful. And culture - I keep hearing that buzzword. Culture.
I guess I had to see for myself.
I came in to the office for an in-person interview with Nate and Elizabeth. The way their eyes lit up when I asked them to tell me about their roles, their goals, their challenges - I realized I was in good company. In the company of those as passionate about their work as I am. A complete stranger reached out his hand when I walked through the door for the first time, smiled and introduced himself as Aaron, and brought me a glass of water.
THAT'S culture. Being surrounded by happy, helpful people who WANT to be there.
All of these things made a major impact on me. But most of all, I want to be a part of BVAccel because I want to invest in a company that's invested in me. I want to trust and be trusted. I want to be all in.
BVAccel has given me a real shot. Taking a chance on a candidate who is admittedly new to the ecomm category. That tells me you are open-minded, progressive, and not afraid of a challenge. Which is precisely how I would define myself. I'm hopeful and excited for the opportunity to grow and develop my industry knowledge and skills, and I want to do that at BVAccel.
This project has surprised me. I've surprised myself with my capabilities to learn and navigate a completely new platform. I was equally surprised (and pleased!) to learn how intuitive the tool is. I'd gladly welcome the opportunity to learn more.
